Hey everyone. This is Tony, the communications and social media guy, and I’m someone you’re probably going to be seeing a lot of here on the blog. Before we dive into this post, I wanted to give some history about this type of post, which I’ll be doing monthly.

Before I started doing communications and social media for Lore Link, I was a blogger. I wrote about geeky places and geeky things happening around the state of Indiana, like comic shops, game shops, toy stores, conventions, book signings, even concerts. Every Tuesday, I’d have a post called “Tuesday Tidbits” where I would do a rundown of events happening in the next couple of months, along with a bit of blog news and other geeky things that were happening around the state. I tried keeping everything going when COVID started, but alas, after ten years, I threw in the towel - until today.

During discussion about what we’re doing here with this blog, a member of the team brought up the old blog and the “Tuesday Tidbits” posts, and wondered if I’d be willing to do something like that here on the Lore Link blog.

Of course, I said yes. So, here we are.

This Month’s Conventions

Let’s kick off with the convention listings. This is not going to be pop culture conventions, like SDCC, or board game conventions. Instead, they’re the ones I found searching Tabletop Events and Google that label themselves as a Tabletop Role Playing Convention. They have not been vetted, I do not endorse any of these conventions; I just want y’all to know they exist and are out there so you can see if it’s the right fit for you!

I am one person tracking down this information, and mistakes and unintentional exclusions can and will occur! If you run or know of a TTRPG-focused convention anywhere in the world, email me at tony@lorelink.com with the dates, website, and location. Thank you in advance!

Lore Link Streaming Schedule

Up next, let’s take a look at what the Lore Link team is going to be doing on Twitch this coming month. All streams will be live on our Twitch channel, and then archived in our YouTube channel.

An image showing the stream schedule for Lore Link. It is the same information that's below the image.

  • March 3rd, 4:00 PM EST
    • We continue our Indie Creator Series as Lore Link Lead Mark talks to Alex Rinehart about his game, Cyberrats in Space, as the Lore Link Players run through a quick adventure.
  • March 10th, 5:00 PM EDT
    • In this installment of our Indie Creator Series, we pull Martine away from UI and coding work to talk with Dan Walter about Storybake, a game about sugar, butter, flour, and friendship! What will they bake up?
  • March 17th, 5:00 PM EDT
    • It’s Saint Patrick’s Day, and the staff is taking it a bit easy today. Twenty is graciously stepping in to play some PC games for your entertainment!
  • March 24th, 5:00 EDT
    • It’s more video gaming this week, and Mike and Mark return to check out some multi-player Battlemarked, which is essentially the tabletop dungeon crawler Demeo, reskinned for D&D. It feels rather meta, but anyway, join them as they adventure through the Realms.
  • March 31st, 5:00 EDT
    • In this stream, we wrap up the month of March with another entry in the Indie Creator Series! In this stream, Mark sits with Sasha Reneau to talk about their game, Spindlewheel. Join us as we learn about this tarot-based storytelling game!

What We’re Playing

Finally, to wrap up, let’s take a look at what some of the team is looking at or playing!

Martine, UX/UI Wizard - “I’ve played Daggerheart for the first time.”

Mark, Project Lead - “So many games and campaigns going on. Daggerheart is the newest, Cosmere was a fun read and I’m looking forward to finding some new favorites next month!”

Michael, Software Alchemist - “In February I played 5 RPG sessions in 3 active campaigns, and tossed in some Magic the Gathering and board games as well.”

Tony, Communications - “I’m currently reading the Daggerheart manual from cover to cover, something I’ve never done with a RPG book, even going all the way back to AD&D 2E.”

Twenty, Community Manager - “I’m making plans on which TTRPG-inspired video games to stream on the Lore Link channel in the coming months.”

With that, I’m going to call this post done! We appreciate you for reading this far, and we want to know what you think. Did you find any of this info valuable? Is there something you’d want me to add to this in the months to come? Please, leave a comment below and let me know. Right now, I’m going with the time-honored tradition of “throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks” which is, of course, what trained professionals do.

Take good care of yourselves, and each other!
