As we continue our Indie Creator Series of posts, let’s look back at the end of March. Mark and Twenty were joined by Sasha of Teacabbage Studios to check out their game, Spindlewheel. Spindlewheel is a storytelling game where you use tarot-like cards to piece together a story. During the stream, Sasha ran Mark and Twenty through the “Detective” adventure, where they spun up a story in about forty-five minutes.
Watching the team pull a story out of these cards was very entertaining. I was very interested in finding out the game was originally conceived as a video game. After the stream, Mark posted on Bluesky that he thought “Spindlewheel was a great time, starting with the minigame Detective, which saw us creating an amazing rollercoaster of a crime drama. Also, the worldbuilding potential for those who want a creative boost in designing their next world or even next NPC makes this a great pickup for GMs of all types.”
If you want to see what Spindlewheel might offer, you can check out the physical copy or find the digital offerings over on their Itch store. You can also find more from Teacabbage Studios on their website, and see what Sasha is up to over on their Bluesky page.
Once again, we would like to thank Sasha for sharing their amazing game with us! You can check out the recording of this stream either here on the blog, or over on YouTube.
