Welcome back to the Indie Creator Series!

This week, we’re looking back to the beginning of 2026 when Mike sat with Jonathan of Firestorm Ink to talk about his game, We Used to Be Friends.

What is We Used to Be Friends? According to the Firestorm Ink itch.io page, “We Used to Be Friends is a collaborative teenage detective drama game. As a group, you’ll create your teenagers, the city they live in, and a season-long mystery that ties them all together.”

Over the course of the hour, Mike and Jonathan talked about not only the game and how it could work with Lore Link, but also had a good conversation about game design, laying out games like We Used to Be Friends, and more. After the stream, Mike posted on Bluesky, “This was a fantastic stream and I really appreciated the conversation about game design, collaborative story telling, and much more. I appreciated Jonathan showing off how to do the world building within Lore Link to provide a way to share information between players.”

The Lore Link Team loved hosting Jonathan and talking about his games and game design thoughts. You can find more information at the Firestorm Ink website and you can keep up to date on everything he’s doing by following him on Bluesky. We’d like to thank him for his time once more, and strongly recommend you check out his video and visit his site to check out everything Firestorm Ink has to offer!
