Welcome to September!

Did you know that September is Library Card Sign-up Month? I assume many of you make use of your local libraries, but if you don’t? Get that card. Heck, I’ve found books for role playing games in my local library as I was browsing! Books, movies, music, digital resources, and more are yours for entertainment or finding fresh ideas for your games, so support your local library.

September is also National Velociraptor Awareness Month, but I hope you’re all aware of any possible velociraptors the other eleven months of the year, as well.

We’ve been busy since Gen Con, with a couple of newsletters going out, continuing work on Lore Link, and talks about new features and user feedback from our Spill the Tea surveys, which we’d love for you to take if you haven’t already. We’re also working on making sure we have everything for Who’s Yer Con here in Indianapolis, which is this coming weekend! We, being Mark and Tony, are looking forward to a smaller, more relaxed convention where we can have conversations with attendees without using amplification, as well as not having to mess with marshalling yards, large gaming companies with forklifts, and traffic in downtown areas

Now, we’ve got a lot to talk about this month, so let’s roll right into it!

Conventions

This is a list of conventions where at least part of the convention is devoted to tabletop role-playing games. This list is for informational purposes only. We don’t endorse any of these shows. They’re just ones that fit the bill after looking through Tabletop Events, FanCons, and using some different searches for gaming conventions.

Do you have a convention that you feel should be listed here, but it isn’t? Please email me with the dates, website, and location, and I can edit it in. Also, if you’re running a convention and want to make it easier for folks like me who like telling people about these things, please make sure your Tabletop Events page says what kind of event it is. You get bonus points for having an actual website, not just a Facebook page, and please - for Pete’s sake - don’t have the “Website” link on Tabletop Events circle back around to your Tabletop Events page!

Twitch Schedule

Friends of Lore Link - Crowdfunding

As you might have noticed, many of our Indie Creator Series guests are either in the midst of crowdfunding their amazing games, or getting ready to start crowdfunding. Let’s see whose campaign is either currently running, or starting this month!

  • Gallerie: Queer Stories of Beauty, Horror, & Hope - Late Pledges
    • Fully Funded on Backerkit, pre-orders are now available!

  • The Magic of Inventorying - Late Pledges

    • From their Kickstarter - “Are you an adventurer with a strong desire to declutter your loot? Magic of Inventorying is a punchy storytelling game for 3 to 6 players, designed to be played in a few hours with polyhedral dice, no GM, and ZERO preparation.”

  • Cyberrats in Space - Late Pledges
    • Fully funded on Kickstarter, but rewards are still available as Late Pledges.
    • I just have one thing to say about this. There are some really cool, funky mechs being designed for this game, and that alone has me interested.

  • Hope Dies Last
    • Coming soon to Gamefound, follow the campaign for free gifts and to be informed of when the campaign starts.
