What's Going On? - April 2026

Hey there, everyone. It’s Tony again, with this month’s “What’s Up” post. March was a pretty calm month, though we have pushed out some cool updates to Lore Link.

Make sure you poke around a little bit to find things like the ability to change Category names, and even add/remove Categories! For example, you can now rename “Transportation” to “Starships”, remove “Villains”, or add “Handouts”. This is just one way the team is helping you organize and run your games.

Now, on with the countdown!

This Month’s Conventions

Do you have a convention that you feel should be on here, but it isn’t? Please email me with the dates, website, and location, and I can edit it in. Also, if you’re running a convention and want to make it easier for folks like me who like telling people about these things, please make sure your Tabletop Events page says what kind of event it is. You get bonus points for having an actual website, not just a Facebook page, and please - for Pete’s sake - don’t have the “Website” link on Tabletop Events circle back around to your Tabletop Events page!

Lore Link Streaming Schedule

Let’s take a look at what the Lore Link team is going to be doing on Twitch every Tuesday this coming month. All streams will be live on our Twitch channel, and then archived to our YouTube channel.

A fancy image showing the Twitch schedule for the month. All information in the image is in the posting underneath.

  • April 7th, 5:00 PM EDT
    • Michael is back with Dune: Adventures in the Imperium by Modiphius. If you’ve been wondering how to use Lore Link with one of their d20 systems, make sure you check it out! You can find his previous stream for this game here.
  • April 14th, 5:00 PM EDT
    • Twenty is here to play some more Marvel’s Midnight Suns! She was pleasantly surprised by the game the first time she played on stream, so she’s back to play some more of this tactical RPG.
  • April 21st, 5:00 PM EDT
    • We have a really special stream for our Indie Creator Series this week! We’re hosting a Small Games Panel with creators Zachary Elliott-Hatton (Minimal Impact), CJ Tucker (Trivia Heroes), and Valery North (Finding Styles)!
  • April 28th, 5:00 PM EDT
    • Lore Link Lead Mark is back on stream after spending the past month coding his heart out! Today, he’s going to make another attempt to show you how you can use Lore Link for your Western-themed adventure.

What We’re Playing

Finally to wrap up, I asked the Lore Link team, “What was the first non-Dungeons and Dragons TTRPG you played?”

  • Michael, Software Alchemist - “FFRPG - a fan created RPG based on final fantasy, which I also knew nothing about. https://ffrpg.net/ffrpg/
  • Mark, Project Lead - “Hrm…I mean technically that FFRPG one, but I was the one running that game, so I didn’t play a non-D&D one till VtM I think later that year?”
  • Martine, UX/UI Wizard - “I honestly don’t remember, I want to say it was Harp.
  • Lady Storytelling, YouTube Consultant and Guest Gamer- “I think it was Monster of the Week for me.”
  • Twenty, Community Manager - “The first TTRPG - with character sheets and dice and the whole 9 yards - that I ever played was Pathfinder, but if you’re exempting that since it originated out of DnD, then the first TTRPG-style game that I ever played was the board game, HeroQuest. I begged for it as a kid and received it, but I only got to play it once because nobody would play it with me after that; my sister was bored, and I don’t think either she or my brother appreciated how much of a control freak I was as the game master.”
  • Tony, Communications - “The same summer I learned how to play Dungeons and Dragons, I was thrown into also learning Shadowrun. The summer of 1991 was definitely a TTRPG learning experience.”
  • Luna, Lead Chaos Mitigation Specialist - “Either Shadowrun or VtM (probably 1e for both given how long ago it was). I can’t remember which was technically first because they were right around the same time, so we’re calling 'em twinsies.”

With that, I’m going to call this post done! We appreciate you for reading this far, and we want to know what you think! Do you find any of this information valuable? Is there something you’d want me to add to this in the months to come? Please, leave a comment below and let me know. Right now, I’m sticking with the time-honored tradition of “Should I add this? YOLO!” which is, of course, what professionals do.

Take good care of yourselves, and each other!
