Back in October of 2025, Mark and the Lore Link Players were joined by developer Alex Vigna of Spellbook Gaming to talk about Bite the Hand. A cyberpunk TTRPG, Bite the Hand was built on the Panic Engine, which is most well known as the basis of Mothership.

Bite the Hand is a Cyberpunk TTRPG that just had an updated version posted to itch.io, and we had a chance to look at it this past October with Spellbook Gaming developer Alex Vigna! Over the course of close to three hours, the team, consisting of Mike, Twenty, and Alex, played through a rather suspenseful adventure run by Mark while also talking about how the game was put together, and Alex’s thoughts behind developing games. After the game, Mark mentioned that “Bite the Hand does an excellent job of using the Panic Engine to build out a great Cyberpunk adventure. It avoids the trap of most cyberpunk games in burying the game in mountains of rules for the GM and player to dig through, and lets the game happen!” For the players, Mike “…honestly loved it. I’ve always liked the cyberpunk genre but have often gotten overwhelmed by the systems or how DEEP people go in specific mythos. This was fun, approachable, fast-paced, with a great feeling of both tension and empowerment." Twenty noted how she “…can see how a longer campaign would make for some hard choices and tough spots to get out of as players. Can definitely recommend the system!”

The game was streamed on the team’s Twitch channel, with the replay over on our YouTube channel. You can follow Alex over at Spellbook Gaming on Bluesky, you can find Bite the Hand on their itch page, and of course you can find the stream replay above, or on our YouTube page.

The team thanks Alex for joining us to show off Bite the Hand, and encourage you to check it out!
