Mark Della-Croce, Lore Link Product Lead, here. I know I say each month is going to be an exciting month, but let me tell you, this month is epic-level.
Just like last month’s announcement, I’m not going to bury the lede here: We’re taking Lore Link out of Early Access and releasing it to the public.
This means, in addition to people being able to sign up for our free World tier, they can now start gaining the extra space and features provided by the Galaxy, Universe, and Multiverse tiers, as well! Features available to upgrading GMs include Player Sharing and Map Hotspotting! This also means our final promised reward for our Kickstarter backers is now unlocked, and we’ve started the clock on a free 1-year membership on their backed levels!
Going live also means we will now start focusing our development time on some of our other planned features, like the GM Screen, and much-requested Named Relationships and custom categories, which are made possible by a data refactor of Locations, Events, and Game Objects into a consolidated Lore entity. If you’re curious and would like to talk to the team about it, we’ll be at Origins Game Fair in Columbus, Ohio, from June 18th through the 22nd.
The team is excited to be back at Origins for our third year! This year, we’ll be at Booth 200 at the front-right side of the vendor hall. We’re going to be signing people up for Lore Link, handing out Gamemaster badge ribbons and Time Out Chairs (while supplies last), and discussing gaming with everyone. In addition, Mike and I will be giving two panels - GMing 101 and How to pick your next TTRPG - and Mike will be running a session of The Sword Campaign from the 6th Edition of Pendragon. Tickets are still available for the panels, and while the Pendragon game is currently full, don’t worry! That can change before the convention, so check back to see if seats have opened up.
June has already been busy with streaming. I started the month by cracking open the new TTRPG Daggerheart to talk about building collaborative worlds in your games. Then, the following Monday, Mike took a break from Pendragon to continue work on his ongoing Quest for the Frozen Flame campaign, and that Tuesday, I showed how to create a game full of over-the-top 80s-style action using games like Feng Shui 2 and Outgunned. This week we’re taking a break from streaming, because on Wednesday, we’re heading to Origins! Mike will be back next week, though, planning the next game he’s going to run the Lore Link Players through: The One Ring.
Well, epic-level adventures require epic-level preparation, so I’ve got to get back to work. ‘Til then, may your players skip taking the Eagles to Mordor, and just take a nice long walk instead. It’s nice outside these days (offer not available outside the Northern Hemisphere)!
