Lore Link Lore Link

Hello there, Mark Della-Croce, Product Lead here! January had some exciting new features released for Lore Link as well as some great guests on stream! Let’s dig in! (Which is a nice change of pace from having to dig OUT of January snow…)

Starting with the new Lore Link features, Encounters are now available! Encounters are our newest collection object, allowing you to turn your Lore from individual pieces into amazing scenes with dangerous actors all for the greatest reward at the end: the loot! Being able to organize things into Encounters allows you to pull out individual pieces from your Sessions and organize them into distinct parts of your plan for the game. That surprising ambush, that intense political debate, or even your standard monster in a room guarding a treasure chest can all be easily grouped together. As part of the Encounters update, we have also decided to clarify some of our references. Now, all references to “Game Objects” have been changed to “Lore,” and all references to “Associate” have been changed to “Link.” We have other exciting upgrades ahead for the encounters on our road map, as well, so rest assured that encounters will get even better! There are even more exciting things in the development pipeline, so watch this space in future newsletters for further developments!

A snip showing the "Lore Referenced In" section, showing that the lore is referenced in Session 1, Final showdown with Forthinus, and Zombie Wolf Ambush.

Used the Referenced By section of Lore to track all Encounters you may have used that Lore in!

Over on our Twitch stream, I’d be remiss if I didn’t thank Mike and the team for stepping in while I was away from my streaming setup last month, and doing some amazing streams! Mike started the year demanding that the Spice Must Flow, and checking out the survival crafting game Dune Awakening and then building on the experience while building out a campaign using Modiphius’ Dune: Adventures in the Imperium. He then continued in our Indie Creator Series talking with Jonathan Lavallee about his collaborative teenage detective drama game We Used To Be Friends. I then got back into the driver’s seat to talk to two more exciting Indie Creators! I talked with Josh Simons about his Superhero TTRPG Paragons and then talked to Chris Longhurst about his myriad of interesting TTRPGs and pre-made campaigns including Gravity and Myriad Inverse! As always, if you want to check out our past streams, visit our Youtube channel for a full archive of us chatting with interesting creators, planning complex games, and playing TTRPG related video games.

Mike and Jonathan also took a look at using Lore Link with We Used to Be Friends

Coming up we’ll be doing a little bit of most of those. I’ll be going live using the latest tools in Lore Link to put together an adventure from Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere TTRPG, while Mike will return to have a chat with Joe Jones-Vermillion about his game Wine Dark Sea. If you want to stay on top of when we are going live and see what we are playing and or who we are talking with, follow us on Twitch!

Alright, this is definitely a shorter newsletter for a shorter month, but we still have plenty going on! I’ve got to get to prepping for all of this year’s awesome encounters, so ‘til next time, may you have a great date! You know, a date that all of your players can actually make to your next game.
