In this week’s entry in the Indie Creator Series, we have something new for us that was kind of cool! In April, the team brought together three creators of Indie Games who focus on creating small games - those that don’t have the grand scope of larger games like Pathfinder or Daggerheart. They spoke for a little over an hour about how those games are important, what the struggles are making games, and other ups and downs as a creator in the gaming space.
Joining Mark on the stream were CJ Tucker of Cracker Jackalope Games, Valery North, maker of games like Our Deeds Worthy of Song and Waning Words, and Zachary Elliot-Hatton, creator of games like Time to Kill and Better Late Than Never. With Mark, they covered topics like GM burnout, design constraints, and what it’s like the first time independent playtesters actually run your game.
We would like to thank everyone once again for joining us! You can find CJ Tucker on Bluesky, https://crackerjackalope-games.itch.io/ and Tumblr, you can find Valery North on Bluesky and https://valerynorth.itch.io/, and you can find Zachary Elliott-Hatton on Bluesky and his own website. We encourage you all to check out their work, as well as checking out their video!
